A Legacy of Growth & Adaptation

Tropical Lawns, established in 1989, started as a dedicated service catering to home lawns and amenity landscaping in Cairns. Over the years, we've blossomed into a thriving, family-run company with a full-time team of 12 greenkeeping, landscaping and mechanical tradespeople. As we've grown, so have our services, expanding into sports field maintenance and erosion control and even offering specialised machinery on contract for a wide range of purposes.

Our commitment to research and varietal selection has allowed us to identify and cultivate turf species that flourish in tropical climates and contribute positively to the environment. Our turf varieties grow on 60 hectares of fertile alluvial soils of the Mulgrave and Little Mulgrave rivers southwest of Cairns. While most of our turf is sold locally, we ensure all our customers, even those on the Torres Strait islands who require three days of barge delivery, receive the freshest, highest-quality turf.
